To perfectly meet client requirements we do not adhere rigidly to a strict process. However, the following 3 steps are common with most projects undertaken.
1. Client Needs Analysis Meeting
A Client Manager from The Usability Company will organise a meeting with the client to ascertain the client's needs. The discussion will focus on the project's stage of development, the budget available, timescale issues, etc. This is usually a 1-2 hour meeting.
2. Develop Usability Plan
Having determined the client needs the client manager will develop a Usability Plan, which will outline the solutions that best fit client needs. The Usability Plan describes the proposed project in detail including any of the following -
what will be tested/audited
the number of users involved
the types of users involved
the testing criteria
schedule
terms & conditions
personnel biographies
description of deliverables and costs
Following signoff of this document the actual project gets underway.
3. Deliverables
Each service has 3 core deliverables.
- A written report describing the project, results and recommendations for improvement.
- Each report has a "take-outs" section - a one-page summary of the critical results, which are scored 1-4 (1 being of high importance to the success of the platform/devices goals, 4 being least important - usually aesthetic change).
- An oral presentation illustrating the actionable insights. Video highlights (if applicable).
Our results are as reliable as possible.
Our turnaround period will never exceed an agreed timescale.
Our recommendations will be based on our combined knowledge and experience of new media testing.
We will manage the whole testing process, but encourage a collaborative effort.
