The Usability Company brings together individuals with over 30 years experience in the field of usability. The following illustrates our unique capabilities as an organisation to provide usability services:

Our specialists have degrees in psychology, design, human factors, cognitive science, information science and human computer interaction. These qualifications provide a solid theoretical foundation for the understanding of usability.

The specialists possess an understanding of the cognitive limitations of people - what influences perception, how memory loads affect the ability to interact, and what constitutes a design that is intuitive to users.

Each specialist has spent many hours in the laboratory observing hundreds of different types of people interacting with many kinds of interface. This experience qualifies our specialists to identify usability issues that may not be recognised by untrained observers.

The specialists have all been previously employed by commercial organisations prior to joining The Usability Company. This equips them with the business ‘know how’ to put forth usability recommendations that lead to commercial gains.

Each specialist has a good understanding of the most common technologies employed in developing new media. A specialist will therefore recommend only those design changes that are deemed to be feasible.

All of our specialists have experience in developing and testing of interfaces across a range of sectors including retail, financial services, government and entertainment. Learning’s from working on these projects are transferred to and used in each project.

Our specialists effectively function as project managers for each project undertaken. They are all well-versed in project management methodologies and are fully aware of the constraints of time and budgets in the delivery of our solutions.
