Accessibility | Usability vs. Accessibility

Creating an accessible website does not necessarily mean that it will also be usable. Meeting the guidelines will gain approval from a wide group of people but if users cannot buy or find what they are looking for, the mission of the site will not be achieved.

This is a key area where The Usability Company differs from the work the RNIB carry out.

Whilst it is important for organisations to meet the guidelines set out for accessibility it is also important that the website is attractive, intuitive and meets its business goals.

At The Usability Company we believe that in time all organisations will seek to understand the business value that the Internet provides to them. As this happens there will be an increasing number of compromises to be made and usability will act as a critical success factor to websites delivering across the widest possible range of requirements.

The Usability Company works with our clients to understand their full range of requirements and then design a project methodology to achieve these needs. To find out more about how we can help you create an accessible and usable website please call
