Getting online by 2005 is the easy part, but how do you ensure take up of government services?

You are invited to a free workshop designed to introduce senior public sector managers to methods that can be applied to maximize customer retention and the re-use of government online services.

The Government's requirement for all public sector services to be online by 2005 now incorporates a checklist of core considerations for the development of strategies for the improved take-up of 'eservices'.

To help the public sector in its task the Office of the e-Envoy released in July this year the Quality Framework for UK government website design, a set of guidelines outlining how to deliver sites that are high quality, accessible and provide a satisfying user experience.

Catriona Campbell, Chairman of The Usability Company, was one of a panel of experts from voluntary, industry and government sectors and academia that advised on quality issues for the Quality Framework document

On behalf of The Usability Company, Catriona, would like to invite you to a workshop aimed at bringing advice and practical examples from leading consultants in addition to a case study of usability in action from the Department of Trade and Industry.

"Usability is crucial and essential to what we do. It is just as important to make websites usable as it is to make them available. It is important that the customer focus area, in particular, looks good and is usable by everyone. Information should be readable, understandable, easily followed and easily found."

Andrew Pinder, e-Envoy, speaking on usability at the British Computer Society Conference in Bath, 2003
